Build the Feeling First
Happy Friday.
And a gentle reminder to surround yourself with whatever helps you feel how you want to feel this weekend.
For me, that looks like camaraderie. I’ve got a hang planned with some friends I’ve known since we were teenagers. And I might go see a travel documentary with a group of people I’m just starting to get to know.
So, yeah, old connections and new ones. But the same thread.
And it made me realize something simple: we have more say than we think in how a weekend feels.
Not always in the circumstances (b/c life), but in what we move toward, who we spend time with, what we give our attention to, and the environments we place ourselves in.
Before the plans and the stories we tell ourselves about our lives…there’s the feeling. And sometimes, you can build toward it on purpose.
So this weekend, whatever it is you’re craving—rest, connection, joy, solitude, a little bit of everything—see if you can shape your time around that.
Even in small ways → Send the text. Take the walk. Make the plan. Say yes (or say no).
